FishDiveR analysis services

Help from the person who built the package, whether you want to run FishDiveR yourself or hand the analysis over entirely.

Getting started with FishDiveR

For researchers and students who want to run the analysis themselves.

  • Preparing and checking tag data so it imports cleanly.
  • Choosing settings for your species and sampling interval, such as the wavelet period range and how many components to keep.
  • Working through errors and unexpected results.
  • Interpreting clusters: what they show, what they don’t, and how to describe them as behaviours.

Available as one-off video sessions or ongoing support through a project.

Analysis done for you

Send me your depth data and I’ll run the full workflow and return results ready for your thesis, report or paper.

  • Processed and quality-checked depth records.
  • Wavelet spectra and principal component results.
  • Behaviour cluster assignments for every day, as a data file for your own analysis.
  • Publication-quality figures.
  • A methods description written for your manuscript.
  • The R script used, so the analysis is fully reproducible.

Analysis can cover a single tag or many individuals and species, pooled for comparison.

Wider data analysis

Beyond FishDiveR itself, I can help connect behaviour clusters to environmental data, location, season or other variables, and with statistical analysis and visualisation of tagging and movement data more generally.

Custom development

If your data or questions need something the package doesn’t yet do, I can discuss extending it for your project.

How it works

  1. Email me a short description of your data: species, tag type, sampling interval, number of tags and deployment length.
  2. We agree the scope, what you’ll receive, and a timeline.
  3. I send a quote. Fees are quoted per project.
  4. Your data stay confidential and are used only for the agreed work.
